Membership

The SA Branch offers various membership options and annual fees as follows.

 

Only dental hygienists who are registered with the Dental Board of Australia are eligible for full membership. 

 

Membership Types

Full Membership: AUD$225.00

Full membership is available to persons currently registered with the Dental Board of Australia holding a Tertiary qualification (Certificate, Associate Diploma, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor Degree or equivalent) in Dental Hygiene/Oral Health from an accredited School, which is eligible for registration with the Dental Board of Australia and recognised by the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia Inc.

Full membership is for a period of 12 months, commencing from the joining date.

Full members shall have privileges as defined by the Association and the right to vote. 

Associate Membership: AUD$195.00

Associate membership is available to persons not currently registered with the Dental Board of Australia, but holding a Tertiary qualification (Certificate, Associate Diploma, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor Degree or equivalent) in Dental Hygiene/Oral Health, from an accredited School, which is recognized by the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia Inc., but has not yet satisfied the requirements of the Dental Board of Australia. Associate members shall have privileges as defined by the Association from time to time but do not have the right to vote.

Associate membership is for a period of 12 months, commencing from the joining date. 

Affiliate Membership: AUD$195.00

Affiliate membership is available to persons otherwise engaged in or associated with the profession of Dental Hygiene who may upon application and at the discretion of the Executive be admitted to membership of the Association.

Affiliate members shall have privileges as defined by the Association from time to time but do not have the right to vote.

Affiliate membership is for a period of 12 months, commencing from the joining date. 

 

New Graduate Membership: AUD$170

New graduate membership is available to persons, who are currently registered with the Dental Board of Australia, holding a Tertiary qualification in Dental Hygiene/Oral Health from an accredited School, which is eligible for registration with the Dental Board of Australia and recognised by the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia Inc. 

 

New graduate membership is for the period of the first twelve months after graduation, commencing from the joining date.

 

New graduate members shall have all the privileges of full membership including the right to vote and join a committee. 


 

Student Membership: Free

Any person who is a Dental Hygiene/Oral Health undergraduate student at an accredited School, which is recognised by the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia Inc. and the Dental Board of Australia, shall be eligible to be a student member of the Association.

Student members shall have privileges as defined by the Association from time to time but do not have the right to vote.

A student who holds a Tertiary qualification (Certificate, Associate Diploma, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor Degree or equivalent) in Dental Hygiene, from an accredited School, which is recognized by the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia Inc., and is a registered practitioner with the Dental Board of Australia, cannot apply for Student membership.

Student membership is active for a period of 1 calendar year, expiring on the 31st day of December. 

 

Change of personal details/contact details

A member of the Association who changes his or her personal and /or contact

details are required to update their details promptly within the members

area of the National database by logging on at

https://members.dhaa.asn.au/login.php

Refund Policy

The DHAA Inc. is not obliged to refund membership fees if the member resigns or their membership is cancelled for any reason. However, pursuant to rule 23 of the Constitution of The DHAA Inc., the National Executive shall have power in its absolute discretion to remit the payment of the whole or part of any subscription owed by a resigning member. This Refund Policy is subject to the Constitution of the DHAA Inc.                                   and, where applicable, the Constitutions of the Branches.
